Voice therapy may be needed secondary to surgical elision or changes to the glottis due to radiation. Radiation can change a person’s voice, quality, pitch, and loudness, so the patient may need intervention. Additionally, the client may have their larynx removed or a laryngectomy, so they may need Alternative and Argumentative Communication or AAC.
